Competitive Sealed Bidding Individuals requesting American Sign Language Interpreter or CART service must call the Town Clerk's office at 401-789-9331 at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the bid opening date. These specifications describe the minimum requirements for reconstruction of the six existing asphalt tennis courts at the Broad Rock Middle School in the Town of South Kingstown. The CONTRACTOR will furnish all the materials, supplies, tools, equipment, labor, and other services necessary for the reconstruction of the tennis courts as described herein and procure all necessary permits. A. BROAD ROCK MIDDLE SCHOOL TENNIS COURT B. RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT BID OPTION #1: RECYCLING OF EXISTING COURTS AND INSTALLATION OF SIX NEW ASPHALT COURTS: 1. In place grinding/pulverizing of existing asphalt and incorporate into existing subgrade to create a homogeneous blend. 2. Fine grade and compact asphalt/gravel blend to allow proper surface runoff. 3. Furnish, place, and compact a minimum of two inches (2") of bituminous asphalt binder. Binder coarse shall conform with Section M.03.01 Column Binder Course, Section M.03.02, and M.03.06 of the DOT Standard Specifications. 4. Furnish and install tack coat. 5. Furnish, place, and compact a minimum of one-inch (1.5") of Type I - 2 asphalt surface mix. Surface course shall conform with Section M.03.02, Column Medium Texture TypeI-1, Section M,03.02, Section and M.03.06 of the DOT Standard. 6. Finished surface of the leveling course shall not vary from the specified grade more than 1/8" in 10' when measured in any direction. Courts shall be sloped on a true plane not less than 0.83% (1:120) and not more than 1% (1:100), preferably from side to side, end to end, or corner to corner COURT SURFACING AND STRIPING: 1. Three (3) coat color system as produced by Nova Sports, USA, or approved equal. Inbounds color to be "Stadium Blue" out of bounds color to be "Nova Blue". 2. Sweep and air clean area to be surfaced. 3. Do not apply if air temperature is below 50 degrees F. or if rain or high humidity is imminent. 4. Apply one (1) coat of Novasurface Acrylic Resurfacer mixed with 5-10 lbs. of 50-60 mesh silica sand per gallon of the resurfacer and applied at a rate of .07 to 1.0 gallons per square yard. If the surface course is not covered uniformly with an even texture, free of all porosity, a third filer coat shall be applied. 5. Apply two (2) coats Novacrylic Combination Surface over the approved filler coat surface at a rate of .05 gallons/SY per coat. The first coat shall be applied the length of the court and the second coat, the width. 6. Layout, mask and stripe playing lines with a paintbrush using 100% acrylic textured line paint - white paint. Court layout shall be per USTA specifications for regulation doubles courts. 7. Remove masking tape and clean work area.
