Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in East Chicago, Indiana. Completed plans call for the demolition of a swimming pool; for site work for a swimming pool; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of East Chicago, Indiana will receive bids for the 2023 Pool Removals at Washington and Kosciozco Park, East Chicago, Indiana, all in accordance with the Contract Documents, Construction Schedule, and Specifications. The work shall consist of removing swimming pools, sidewalks, slides, site grading, and all other work necessary for a complete project and as included in the Construction Schedule and Specifications for the Washington Park Pool Removal Project. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check, drawn on an acceptable bank, or an acceptable bidder's bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, payable to the City of East Chicago, Indiana. The bidder to whom a contract for work is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond executed on the specified forms and acceptable to the City, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount. The City of East Chicago, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or parts there-of and to waive all responsibility for irregularities in bids. Bids may be held by the City of East Chicago, Indiana, for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and the investigation of the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. Contractors and Subcontractors are required to pay not less than the common construction wage as determined by the United States Department of Labor under the Davis-Bacon and related acts for work done in Lake County. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Fifty (50%) percent of the contractor's workforce in each initial craft will be comprised of residents of the City of East Chicago participating in the Indiana Plan, whenever possible.
