Improvements to include: Full depth asphalt pavement reconstruction. Minor storm water drainage improvements. Parking field lighting improvements. Minor concrete curbing and sidewalk improvements. ADA Ramp upgrades. The Engineer's Estimate of Probable Construction Cost is $900,000.00. The Contract Time is 60 Calendar Days. Some night shift work required. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Town of Hempstead for not less than five percent (5%) of the estimated amount of the bid. The Town of Hempstead reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Federal equal opportunity and labor standards are applicable for all work performed under this Contract. Minority owned, women owned and disabled veteran owned businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. In accordance with Town policy, if the amount bid exceeds $250,000.00, the bidder on this project must have an Apprenticeship Program(s) in effect pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Code of the Town of Hempstead, appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed, approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor. For example, road improvement and storm water drainage projects would require an Apprenticeship Agreement in place at the time of bid for Operating Engineers, Road and Heavy Construction Laborers. Failure to have said Apprenticeship Program(s) in place at bid submittal will result in the bidder being deemed non-responsive.
