Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sikeston, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The proposed work includes: removal of existing improvements, construction of a new concrete sidewalk connections, ramps, entrances, storm drainage, and handicap raised domes at street intersections, pavement marking, and miscellaneous improvements. All sidewalks, entrance and street crossing and ramps are to be ADA compliant. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher. The City of Sikeston hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. A certified or cashiers check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal. Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees with sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project A DBE goal of Five (5%) percent has been established for this project. All DBEs must be certified and be listed in either the MoDOT DBE Directory or the MRCC DBE Directory. . Contractor must include DBE Information in Section 7. See Bidder Checklist Item 2. The City of Sikeston reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder No second tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
