The project consists of constructing approximately 640 LF of 12" water main and related work. Estimate:$100,000. The deadline to ask questions is 10/18/2024 5:00 PM CST. A CERTIFIED OR CASHIER'S CHECK, or an acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid shall accompany each bid as a guaranty that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into contract with the City of Longview, Texas and furnish bonds on the forms provided. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER OR BIDDERS will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and Maintenance Bond, in the amount of the contract, written by a responsible surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and satisfactory to the Owner as required by Article 5160 V.A.T.C.S. NO BID may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least 90 calendar days. Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages. Bidder must agree to commence work within 10 days after the date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" by the Owner and to fully complete the project within the time stated in the Proposal. The bidder must agree to pay, as liquidated damages, the sum of $200 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as hereinafter provided for in the General Conditions. BIDDERS ARE EXPECTED TO INSPECT the site of the work and to inform themselves of all local conditions. Time of completion shall be forty-five (45) calendar days, including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any or all bids. Any Proposal received after the specified time will be returned to the Bidder unopened. No Proposal may be withdrawn within 90 days from the opening date. Conditional bids will not be considered.
