PURPOSE Calvert County Government is seeking bids from qualified Contractors to furnish all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and materials necessary for the construction of the St. Leonard Well, Water Station No. 2, and Elevated Tank at 5370 St. Leonard Road, St. Leonard, MD 20685. Work shall be completed in accordance with all Contract Documents and Contract Drawings. SCOPE OF WORK SUMMARY A. The Project consists of the construction of various improvements to the St. Leonard Water System including, but not limited to, the following major items of work: (1) New 100,000 gallon single-pedestal spheroid elevated water storage tank (2) Treatment Building to store and feed sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and various other related electrical and instrumentation equipment (3) Approximately 1,100 linear feet of 8-inch diameter water main (4) Construct well casing, perform drawdown testing, and install and test well pumps (5) Site grading and improvements (6) All other work required to complete the improvements identified in the contract drawings and specifications. Initial Written Questions Shall Be Due on or Before Friday, October 18, 2024 by 2:30 P.m. (Local Prevailing Time). Final Written Questions Shall Be Due on or Before by Wednesday, October 23, 2024 by 2:30 P.m. (Local Prevailing Time). All Questions Shall Be Submitted in Writing to the Procurement Office at Savannah.Manning@calvertcountymd.gov Unless otherwise specified, all formal bids shall be binding for 120 calendar days following bid-opening date, unless extended by mutual consent of all parties. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond for five percent (5%) of the bid price. A certified check for five percent (5%) of the bid price, payable to the Calvert County Treasurer shall be accepted in lieu of a Bid Bond. Bids submitted without a Bid Bond or certified check shall not be considered. The Bid Bond or check of the Contractor to whom the Contract is awarded shall be forfeited to Calvert County Government as liquidated damages in case the Contract and surety are not executed within ten (10) business days after receiving the Contract for execution. The time for performance of this Contract shall begin from the date of the Notice to Proceed or as otherwise directed by Calvert County Government and shall be substantially complete within four hundred eighty (480) calendar days. The right is hereby reserved to reject any or all proposals, and to waive informalities, as the interest of Calvert County Government may require.
