The City of Independence is soliciting bids from qualified bidders for Rock Creek Watershed CMP Repair and Replacement CIP PHASE II for the Municipal Services Department. This contract provides for, but is not limited to, installing new storm sewer or repair existing storm sewer at 40 separate locations across the City of Independence, Missouri. The project includes approximately 1,665 linear feet of HDPE storm sewer pipe replacement ranging in diameter from 12"-30". A total of 8,182 linear feet of pipe will be lined ranging from 12" CMP to 57"x38" CMAP (along with some VCP being lined in the same diameter range), 370 linear feet will be geopolymer lined ranging from a 60"x48" stone arch culvert to an 84"x60" Brick Box, and 2,190 linear feet will be invert repaired (spot welded with wire mesh then lined with concrete along the invert) ranging from 42" CMP to 84"x64" CMAP. Several structures adjacent to the geopolymer lined culvert will also require rehabilitation with similar geopolymer lining methods. 40 structures and 32 structure tops will be replaced, and 286 linear feet of water mains will be relocated. The project also includes approximately 20 linear feet of 8" sanitary sewer VCP replacement with PVC followed by encasement, and the potential relocation and/or encasement of sanitary laterals and water service lines. One location, located at 39th and Vassar, involves streambank stabilization work, such as the placement of riprap and installation of geofabrics related to streambank stabilization. Other incidental construction includes grading, restoration, asphalt street cut and repair, and demolition of existing structures.
