City of Marion Alley Restoration DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Option #1: Removal and disposal of existing asphalt, grade stone once the asphalt is removed. Place 2" of #73 stone grade and compact to profile alley Option #2: Patching of low areas Place 1.5" of Asphalt over existing asphalt Option #3: Removal and disposal of existing asphalt, Remove and disposal of existing stone to a depth of 4" Dress existing base stone as needed, compact to profile alley Place and compact 3" of Asphalt Binder Place and compact 1" of Asphalt Surface Option #4: Grade existing stone and place #73 stone as needed, grade and compact to profile alley No Bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for the receiving of bids. The Owner reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bid shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Owner further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the Contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the City of Marion or to reject all bids. Work to commence within 30 days after award and will be completed by October 15, 2025. All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the project throughout. Award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder. The successful bidder also must comply with all of the provisions of (a) Contract Work Hours Standard, (b) the Copeland Act (Anti kickback), and (c) Title IV of the Rights Act of 1964.
