Fournier Place Town Housing Development Project. This development aims to create a vibrant, sustainable, and community-oriented residential space to accelerate housing availability in the Town of Slave Lake. This project is a key initiative in addressing the critical need for affordable housing in the community, where the cost of owning a home has become increasingly challenging for many families. The proposed site for the Townhouse Development is outlined in Appendix C. Currently, the 18 lots have been subdivided, complete with underground utilities such as water, sanitary sewer, gas, and electrical services. Each lot is approximately 33 meters in length and 10 meters in width. However, the Town is considering consolidating every two subdivided lots into a single, larger lot for the townhouse development, resulting in dimensions of approximately 33 meters by 20 meters for each unit. This consolidation aims to optimize the functionality of the development. TIMELINE: Scope of work has been revised. Previous plans were to proceed with a high-density residential development however, the intention is now to build single-family detached homes. The lots will be sold for development.
