Renovation of a municipal facility in Cedar Point, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Carteret County Government is soliciting competitive proposals replace approximately eleven (11) existing windows with new, energy-efficient windows that meet all codes, and improve the functionality, security and aesthetics at the Western Office located at 701 Cedar Point Blvd, Cedar Point, NC 28584. Preparation o Remove all windows identified as 1-11 on the diagram below, in phases, which will be scheduled by Carteret County Government. Existing window size is approximately 39" x 36". o The Contractor shall replace all rot, mold or damaged surroundings, if present. o All existing painted surfaces surrounding the windows shall be cleaned of all moisture, dirt, oil, grease, rust, and other foreign matter prior to painting. Necessary site preparation such as scraping, sanding, pressure washing, caulking, hole repair, wood replacement and priming shall be performed as needed to ensure smooth/flush surface and integrity of the end product. Filler(s) shall be smooth to the contour of object. o Provide and set up interior protection of furniture, flooring, walls and ceiling for dust and debris. o All lintels shall be prepared in a manner to receive a rust inhibitor prior to painting with appropriate paint to match the existing white color. New Window Specifications o Furnish and install new DP-50, Argon insulated, factory vinyl white, single hung windows equipped with white cam locks, traditional grilles and screens to match existing size. o New windows shall be installed following manufactures instructions and recommendations, ensuring the windows are level and square. o Ensure all windows are flashed, weather-tight and securely fastened. o All gaps shall be properly sealed with weatherproof materials. o Exterior and interior wooden trim and panels shall be altered, if necessary, so that the new window(s) do not overhang. o The Contractor shall provide submittals for proposed windows with their proposal. Painting o Exterior Super Paint, Semi-gloss, or equivalent with County approval, shall be applied evenly by brush or roller without runs, drips, air bubbles or other defects to all areas being painted with a minimum of two coats. All window surroundings shall be painted white. o All paint and painting materials shall be moved offsite before start of business. At no time shall brushes or rollers be cleaned onsite. o All surroundings shall be sanded, prepped, and caulked both interior and exterior, as necessary. Schedule o Work may commence during normal operating hours, scheduled by the County. The Contractor may work outside normal operating hours, if requested. o Interested Contractors shall contact the POC below for a site visit. Cleaning and Miscellaneous o The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, SDS, equipment and dedicate a competent supervisor to direct work as outlined within these documents. o If a window is removed, it shall be replaced the same day otherwise all openings shall be boarded and secured after each working day. o All surfaces including but not limited to, brick, windows, shingles, hardware, blinds, landscaping and sidewalks shall be protected from chipped paint, dirt and paint splatter. All associated debris shall be cleaned and hauled off at the end of each working day. o Barricades shall be used while work is being performed. o The Contractor shall verify all measurements. o Any damages caused by the Contractor shall be the Contractor's responsibility to fix or replace at the County's discretion. o The Contractor shall obtain the required permits, if required, give all notices to the POC (including a copy of any permits), and comply with all laws, ordinances, codes, rules and regulations bearing on the conduct of the work. Permits shall be posted onsite at project location. No time extensions shall be granted or financial consideration given to the Contractor for time or monies lost due to violations of any such ordinance, code, law or regulations that may occur.
