Site work and paving for a road / highway in Overland Park, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This item shall consist of activities associated with the protection and preservation of trees located within and adjacent to the project limits. Trees marked "Save" which are located within the grading limits are to be protected from construction activities including grading, movement of materials and equipment, excavation, removals, etc. The contractor shall delineate a tree protection area around trees to be saved with construction fencing. If damaged, the construction fencing shall be repaired or replaced within 24 hours. Prior to the commencement of construction activities, the contractor shall perform necessary inspection of existing trees to be preserved and notify the City Forester of any indications that tree viability may be at risk. Where partial removals are to occur, the work shall only be performed by a qualified nurseryman or ISA/Kansas Certified Arborist and in accordance with ANSI A300.
