The Village of Dupo is formerly requesting qualified engineering firms to submit statements of qualifications for construction of a new storm water pump station along 5 th Street for flood mitigation. The Village is currently pursuing funding by way of a St Clair County Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds. Project Scope The Village of Dupo has historic drainage problems in the northeast part of the Village. The Construction of 1-255 has exacerbated the historic problems Dupo in this part of the Village, as 1-255 modified the natural drainage path for stormwater. In an effort to mitigate the historic and ongoing problems impacting homeowners in this area, in the mid-1990's, the Village constructed a stormwater collection basin to help store and route stormwater. These efforts have helped alleviate flooding for routine, small rain events, but is not able to remedy heavy flooding of these properties during heavy rain events. The best option available to the Village to help mitigate routine flooding for these impacted property owners is to put in a stormwater pump station along 5 th Street in order to convey water from the Village's Storm Collection Basin on the west side of 5 th Street and pump it to the east side of 5 th Street and allow the excess stormwater to pond in the farm field until the 1-255 drainage system can convey water further east of 1-255. Key aspects of the project are as follows: Construct a New Storm Water Pump Station with approximately 8,000 gpm pumping capacity. Provide a backup generator as the need is usually greatest during significant storm events. Construct a new 24" Storm Water Pipe Across 5 th Street. Add Rip-Rap and other protective measures on the east side of 5 th Street to prevent erosion. Add additional conveyance piping and drainage structures upstream of Dupo's Stormwater Collection Basin to improve drainage away from Stone and Lime Streets. The Village is requesting (10) printed and bound packets summarizing the firm's qualifications, experience, targeted towards Dupo's project needs. RECENT PROJECT REFERENCES AND CONTACT INFORMATION MUST BE INCLUDED. Focus of Submittal: o Experience with Storm Water convenance projects. o Experience with pump selection and pump station design. o Understanding of the Village drainage issues and concerns. o Firm Overview & Proposed Project Team Leaders & Qualifications o Recent Experience with similar projects. Provide Project Locations, Contact Name of Owner and General Contractor Village Objectives: The Village intends to engage the services of the selected engineering firm to provide full engineering services to complete the necessary improvements. These services include: Work with Village Personnel on designing the storm water pump station. Provide technical design plans and specifications. Submit for and obtain all necessary environmental reviews and construction permits. Prepare Construction Documents for procuring bids and engaging a Contractor to VILLAGE complete OF DUPO - construction REQUEST FOR of QUALIFICATIONS- the improvements.
