Renovation of a transportation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

This Quote/Bid is to furnish all material, labor, supervision, permits and supplies necessary and reasonably incidental to replace carpeting on the 5th floor and a portion of the 4th floor per the project requirements provided by Capital Improvements Division in this Invitation for Quote/Bid at Attachment C and all exhibits and addenda thereto. Work is to be done under the terms and conditions of Palm Beach Countys Annual Contract - Flooring, and pursuant to the conditions of the Work Order, both of which are incorporated into the Contract Documents by reference Question Deadline 11/14/2024 Questions must be e-mailed to FDO-CID-Bids@pbc.gov at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the bid due date. Only questions received in writing will be responded to regarding this Invitation for Quote/Bid To replace carpeting on the 5th floor and a portion of the 4th floor per the project requirements provided below: a. Contractor to remove and properly dispose of all old flooring materials and base in areas as indicated on 2 floor plans, shown on Exhibit "1". Contractor shall only remove the quantity of flooring that can be replaced every day with the new flooring as the facility shall be returned to normal conditions at the end of every work day. Contractor to furnish and install new carpet with new cove base, thresholds, and transition strips needed for a complete, turnkey, ADA compliant system as indicated by floor plans. c. Contractor to furnish and install new carpet with new cove base, thresholds, and transition strips needed for a complete, turnkey, ADA compliant system as indicated by floor plans. d. Any areas with existing tile or concrete (typically bathrooms and stairwells) are excluded from the scope of work. e. Contractor will be responsible for moving the furniture prior to removal of the existing carpet. All furniture shall be placed in its original location after installation of the new carpet. County will be responsible for disconnecting, moving, and reconnecting all computers, printers and all personal items in the space. f. Contractor to use only Manufacturer approved adhesives, additives, and accessories. All existing mastics, glue and adhesives shall be removed prior to new flooring installation. g. Contractor to provide an additional 10% of each flooring type as attic stock to be stored by FMD and used for future repairs LIQUIDATED DAMAGES. Liquidated Damages are $120/day for failure to achieve certification of Substantial Completion within the Work Order time or approved extension thereof. Bid Security. If Bid is $200,000 or over, this Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security (in the form of, at Bidders option, cashiers check, certified check, money order or Bid Bond in favor of the County) in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the bid price, see Section 5.2.2 of the Instructions to Bidders of the Annual Contract for detailed requirements regarding Bid Security and Attachment "B". Public Construction Bond. If Bid is $200,000 or over (or if cumulative open work orders are $200,000 or over), then prior to execution of a Work Order, and not later than fourteen (14) calendar days after notification from Owner, the successful Bidder must furnish a Public Construction Bond in the amount of 100% of the Work Order and Guarantee, see Section 5.2.3 of the Instructions to Bidders of the Annual Contract for detailed requirements regarding the Public Construction Bond and Guarantee.
