This contract consists of furnishing and delivering the following chemical to the Maryland Environmental Service: Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension, gallons. The quantity of the 50,400 gallons of Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension for a year is an estimate. Maryland Environmental Service reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of the product that is ordered. Maryland Environmental Service also reserves the right to add or delete facilities that use Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension. The estimated delivery of Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension per month is 4,200 gallons. The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, components, materials, tools and appurtenances necessary for the proper performance and completion of this contract in the manner specified, for the specific price, and to the satisfaction of the Maryland Environmental Service. The submission of the bid shall be considered prima facie evidence that the bidder has familiarized himself with and understands the conditions under which this contract will be awarded, performed, and administered. Maryland Environmental Services is soliciting a turnkey service for the addition of Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension for pH and alkalinity control at its wastewater treatment facility located at Dorsey Run WWTP. The Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension shall be THIOGUARD(R), or approved equal. The successful bidder shall supply a chemical feed tank (storage minimum capacity is 5,000 gal), mixing system, and pumps for the onsite storage of Liquid Magnesium Hydroxide Suspension for the duration of the contract. The system will include a panel that will have on/off control for the chemical feed pumps and mixers and that allow for the adjustments to the chemical feeds rates. The chemical feed pumps will be mounted in a heated box to prevent freezing. It is the responsibility, of the successful bidder to clean out any sediment and/or residue in the storage tanks, as needed, due to equipment failure. The successful bidder shall be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the chemical feed system for the duration of the contract.
