As of August 13 2025 this was abandoned The Escambia County Department of Waste Services located at 13009 Beulah Road, Cantonment, FL 32533 is looking for a qualified and responsible contractor to install a sheet pile retaining wall that will replace a deteriorated timber retaining wall. The existing wall will need to be removed as it has exceeded its life span and has begun failing. The contractor shall comply with local, state, and federal safety codes/requirements for this work. Supplies & equipment may be staged onsite by the construction area for the entirety of the project. All work is to be performed during normal operating hours of the Perdido Landfill which are Monday through Friday 0700 (7am) - 1700 (5pm) & Saturday 0700 (7am) - 1530 (330pm). During these hours the contractor will have access to the facility and may enter the premises through the back gate. The existing two-wall system made from timber is well past its life expectancy and has begun failing. Old timbers will need to be broken down as much as possible. The broken-down timbers can then be hauled off to our Class 1 area of the landfill and disposed of. Contractor is responsible for debris transportation. There is a fire hydrant and high-pressure water line within the construction area of the retaining wall that will need to be spotted for damage prevention.
