These capital improvements will consist of the installation of one (1) Owner supplied replacement membrane and identified repairs, at the Rosa Parks Transit Center, Tensile Structure. In June of 2023 a section of the existing Tensile Structure membrane failed, at the first Bay, along Column Line 2. The Detroit Building Authority worked with the Detroit Department of Transportation, Peaks Performance Construction, LLC, and Silman-TY Lin to identify the required repairs and replacement panel. A replacement membrane panel has been engineered and manufactured and completed by Lightweight Manufacturing, Inc. The delivery and installation, of the replacement membrane panel, must be coordinated with the awarded Contractor experienced in working on and maintaining tensile structures.
