The major proposed work includes: Remove up to 500 dry tons of sludge from the Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludge Lagoon the first year and up to 500 dry ton per year contingent on approval of each year's budget through 2026. All equipment, material and workmanship must be in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents on file with the City Clerk, Kirksville, Missouri, and the office of the Engineer. A certified check on a solvent bank or a bid bond by a satisfactory surety in an amount equal to 5% of the base bid must accompany each proposal, and shall be considered the Bid Security. The successful bidder shall at the time of the execution of the Contract furnish separate performance and payment bonds in a sum equal to the contract amount payable to the City of Kirksville, Missouri, and shall be considered Contract Security. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the bid opening date. The City reserves the right to reject any of all bids and to waive informalities therein to determine which is lowest and best bid. No award is final until formally approved by the City Council. All proposals arriving at the designated office after the deadline specified will not be considered and will be returned unopened. All wages paid for work under this contract shall comply with requirements of the prevailing wage law of the State of Missouri (MO Public Law 294, Section 290.210 through 290.340 and Section 290.550 through 290.580, as amended RSMo 1969).
