The funding, awarded under the Bridge Investment Program, will replace four outdated rigid-frame concrete bridges along Interstate 40, originally constructed in 1963. Senator Mark Kelly played a key role in shaping and delivering this investment for Arizona. As one of the architects of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Kelly has consistently prioritized improving the state’s transportation infrastructure to enhance safety, create jobs, and support the local economy. “Arizona’s bridges connect our communities and support our economy — they need to be safe,” Kelly stated. “This investment to replace outdated bridges will enhance safety for drivers and residents while supporting trade and creating good-paying jobs. I’m proud to deliver resources through our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to make projects like this possible.” Kelly’s advocacy ensured that the Bridge Investment Program became a cornerstone of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, allocating billions of dollars to address bridge replacements and upgrades across the United States. The program aims to reduce the number of bridges in poor condition and prevent those in fair condition from deteriorating further. ----------------------------- County : Apache Description : Bridge Rehabilitation Project Limits: I 40 Bridge 677 milepost 357.53 to 358.53 (1 mile), I 40 Bridge 678 milepost 357.53 to 358.53 (1mile), I 40 Bridge 680 milepost 359.21 to 360.21 (1 mile) Route : I 40 As of July 8 , 2025, the project is in Conceptual status.
