Renovation of a water / sewer project in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) is located at 50 Essex Avenue in Gloucester, MA and operates as an enhanced primary treatment facility. The City of Gloucester (the City) is under a Consent Decree by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to add secondary treatment to their WPCF by June 30, 2028. Additionally, the WPCF has had multiple equipment failures in the past few years including issues with the existing screw pumps, grit system, and clarifier arms. The continuing need for equipment repair, rehabilitation, and replacement has strained the WPCF operations, making the improvements to the existing facility process equipment a high priority for the City. The facility, originally built in 1981, is comprised of a control building, a headworks facility, a primary complex structure housing the primary clarifiers and sludge pump room, gravity sludge thickeners and holding tank, a sludge pump station, a wood chip biofilter odor control system, chemical storage building, and chlorine contact tanks. Existing Facility Process Equipment Improvements and Secondary Treatment Upgrades The City of Gloucester seeks proposals from qualified CM at Risk contractors interested in being prequalified for the WPCF Improvements and Secondary Upgrades project, located at 50 Essex Avenue, Gloucester, MA 01930. The CM at Risk Manager shall be responsible for complete construction management services as further described in the RFQ. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to accept that which is deemed in the best interest of the City of Gloucester, MA. The City shall not be responsible for proposals arriving late for any reason. Shortlist Confirmed. Hard copies of addenda shall not be mailed, emailed, or faxed.
