The City of West Lafayette requires qualified construction inspection on multiple projects during the 2025 construction season. One firm will be selected to provide inspection services for multiple projects on an ongoing basis. The selected firm will be expected to provide all necessary tools and technology associated with the performance of inspection services. The firm will communicate directly with the West Lafayette Street Commissioner and the West Lafayette Engineering Department for all questions, concerns, and direction. Construction inspection will be performed on an as-needed basis at an hourly rate rather than the typical lump sum per project. Some of the inspection services required will include: o Inspect and review contractor actions o Review plan sets o Attend weekly progress meetings o Weekly inspection reports o Materials Field Testing o Other responsibilities fitting a construction inspector Below is a summary of the integral projects happening in 2025. Cason Family Park The Cason Family Park Project will be constructed over a two-year period impacting nearly 30 acres. The park will include playgrounds for all ages, focus on accessibility, and will boast several facilities including small and larger shelters. Additional facilities include paved and natural trails, a boat house and pond, an event space, an outdoor classroom (adjacent to the pre-existing onsite schoolhouse) and parking. Special considerations for inspections should include pond lining and lighting variability.
