Reference Number : 0000366061 Material -Polymer Coated 1. Polymer coated pipe shall meet ASHTO Specificaton M245 and M246 2. Polymer coated pipe shall be helical corrugations only. Ends of pipe shall be reformed to accommodate corrugated bands. 3. Thickness of polymer coating on the finished pipe shall be 0.010" on the interior and exterior surface. 4. Connecting bands shall be fully corrugated. Hardware (bolts and nuts), necessary gasket material and lubricants shall be furnished with each culvert section. All shall meet ASHTO requirements under specificaton # M245 and M246. 5. A twelve inch wide band shall be included with pipe diameters of 30" and below. A twenty four inch wide band shall be included with all pipe diameters larger than 30". All shall meet ASHTO specifications 7. Bidders must be able to furnish a minimum of 50 feet section with reformed ends to accommodate corrugated bands and minimum 60 feet section without reformed ends. 8. Culverts shall not be nested inside of each other when delivered. 9. Culverts shall be equipped with lifting lugs. Material - High Performance Polypropylene Pipe (HPP) / Round 1. HPP pipe shall have a double wall, smooth interior and annular exterior corrugations. 2. 12- through 60-inch (300 to 1500 mm) pipe shall meet ASTM F2881 or AASHTO M330. 3. HPP pipe shall have a seating "Home Line", and be made available in 20 ft, and 30 ft. lengths. 4. Pipe shall be joined using a bell & spigot joint meeting the requirements of ASTM F2881 or AASHTO M330. The joint shall be watertight according to the requirements of ASTM D3212. Gaskets shall meet the requirements of ASTM F477. Gasket shall be installed by the pipe manufacturer and covered with a removable, protective wrap to ensure the gasket is free from debris. A joint lubricant available from the manufacturer shall be used on the gasket and bell during assembly. 12- through 60-inch (300 to 1500 mm) diameters shall have an exterior bell wrap installed by the manufacturer. A second gasket per joint of pipe shall be supplied at no extra cost to the Parish. 5. Polypropylene compound for pipe and fitting production shall be impact modified copolymer meeting the material requirements of ASTM F2881, Section 5 and AASHTO M330, Section 6.1. 6. Fittings shall conform to ASTM F2881 or AASHTO M330. Bell and spigot connections shall utilize a welded or integral bell and valley or inline gaskets meeting the watertight joint performance requirements of ASTM D3212.
