Renovation of an educational facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: THE SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDED IN THIS PERMIT ENCOMPASSES THE DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING (1) 250KW OPTIONAL STANDBY GENERATOR AND (1) 300KW GENERATOR RESPONSIBLE FOR FEEDING OPTIONAL STANDBY LOADS LOCATED AT THE NORTH PARKING LOADING DOCK. THESE WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW GENERATORS OF LIKE SIZE AND TYPE. THE NEW DESIGN AIMS TO REPLACE TWO EXISTING DIESEL GENERATORS (250KW AND 300KW) AND TWO 400A ATS'S (#1 & #3 FED FROM THE 300KW GENERATOR) WITH NEW ONES AT THE SAME LOCATION, ADHERING TO UC BERKELEY REQUIREMENTS. THE NEW GENERATORS ARE EXPECTED TO MATCH THE EXISTING RUNTIMES AND ENCLOSURE LEVELS BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable Emergency Generator Replacement in an occupied building projects, with a construction value of $800,000 or greater, completed in the past five (5) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. b. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 2. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) describe how project is comparable to project being bid. 3. All Emergency Generator Replacement projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. Original bid bond must be received within two (2) business days of bid deadline at: capital projects, University of California, Berkeley, 1936 University avenue, suite 222, Berkeley, ca 94704. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: "B" General Contractor License and "C-10" Electrical Contractor License Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Estimated construction cost: $800,000.00
