Renovation of a water / sewer project in Edmonds, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Primary Clarifier #3 (dual drive) cages, center columns, feedwells, corner sweeps, weirs, counterweights, skimming devices and rake arms need replacement due to severe corrosion. The steel is in a highly corrosive environment and has not been replaced since the original construction approximately 30 years ago. The limited access will require that pieces be assembled inside the tank. The concrete structure also needs to be inspected and repaired as needed as corrosion of the concrete in spots has led to exposed rebar and may have compromised the structural integrity of the clarifier. As of October 19, 2024, this project is included in the city's 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
