A Cashier's Check (drawn on an Alabama bank) or Bid Bond for 5% of the amount bid (maximum of $10,000) and made payable to the City of Gadsden, Alabama must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. It is not required that a contractor be licensed in order to submit a bid; however, prior to award of a contract, proper proof of all applicable licensures must be provided by the contractor, proof of insurance coverages of the types and amounts as set forth in the project specifications will be required of the contractor, and any and all subcontractors, prior to beginning work. The contractor will be required to perform work amounting to at least 30% of the total contract cost with its own organization. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for the satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond or Bonds in the amount required by Section 39-1-1(a), Code of Alabama 1975, and evidence of insurance as required by the bid documents within ten (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the contract. The right to reject any or all bids and to disregard any minor irregularities is reserved by the owner Question Deadline Nov 06, 2024 Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to the owner at the address shown in the Invitation for Bids. Any inquiry received four (4) or more days prior to the date fixed for opening of bids will be given consideration
