Project Overview: The Benton County Drainage Authority requests quotes to perform mowing of the buffer strip along both sides of the open channel of the ditch. The buffer strip is defined as the area having a width of 16-1/2 feet measured outward from the top edge of the ditch channel. It is the goal that grasses and small brush such as willows are mowed, to a height of less than 6 inches. Some adjacent landowners may have already mowed this area, it should be assumed that successful bidders may need to mow the entire length of the open channel ditch along both sides. It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine the best and most efficient means to accomplish this. Project Location: County Ditch 3, shown in Figure 1, is a 4,100-ft open channel ditch that consists soley of Main Trunk. The system is located southeast of the City of Sauk Rapids in section 25 of Minden Township (T36N, R31W). Project Start and End Data: It is anticipated that the Drainage Authority will approve the quotes and authorize the work at their November 5, 2024, meeting. Work can commence on November 18, 2024 (after deer hunting season). All work and any cleanup shall be completed within 10 business days after starting. Quote Requirements: Bidders are asked to provide an hourly rate to perform the above describe work and an estimate of hours to complete. Both the Hourly rate and the hours to complete will be considered when selecting a bidder.
