sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Pompton Lakes for the Road Improvements at Maple Avenue and Dawes Highway. The project limits include the entire length of Maple Avenue and Dawes Highway, a total length of +-0.657 miles. This project is anticipated to be started and completed in the Spring of 2025. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: reconstruction of storm inlets with new castings; removal of existing curbs and installation of new Portland cement concrete curbs; removal and replacement of all ADA curb ramps; removal and replacement of existing driveway aprons where required; asphalt milling and road resurfacing; replacement of traffic control signs; and, traffic striping. The main items of construction and approximate quantities include, but is not limited to: 16,500 square yards of asphalt milling; 2,100 tons of hot mixed asphalt surface course, two (2") inches thick, mix 9.5 M64; 2,000 linear feet of concrete curbs; 500 square yards of concrete sidewalk, 4" thick; 375 square yards of concrete sidewalk, 6" thick with reinforcing; and, reconstruction of twenty (20) inlets with precast catch basin and heavy duty castings. No bids will be accepted after the date and time designated to receive bids. The Borough of Pompton Lakes is not responsible for any bid mailed or hand delivered which is lost in transit or delivered late. A bid may be withdrawn prior to the time for opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof upon written application of the Bidder who shall be required to produce evidence showing that individual is or represents the principal or principals involved in the bid. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after bids have been opened. If the Contract is awarded, no refunds will be given. If for any reason the Contract is not awarded, refunds will immediately be returned to bidders pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24(b) when the Contract documents are returned in reasonable condition within 90 days of notice that the Contract has not been awarded. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, deviations or omissions in any or all bids, and to accept such bids and make awards as may be most advantageous to the Borough. Bids must be made on the included standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein and required by the Specifications, and must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the project identification and the name and address of the Bidder. Bids may be submitted by certified mail, return receipt requested, regular mail or hand delivery. Each bid must also be accompanied by the consent of a similarly acceptable Surety, guaranteeing a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond and a one hundred percent (100%) Labor and Material Payment Bond will be furnished upon award of the Contract. Bidders are required to comply with the Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5 31 et seq. and the Affirmative Action Requirements of N.J.A.C. 17:27.
