The school to be cabled is West Decatur Elementary School, at the following address: 708 Memorial Dr. SW Decatur, AL 35601 The Decatur City School District, located in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking to re-cable the networking infrastructure of West Decatur Elementary School (WDES). The request is to remove all existing ethernet and fiber optic cabling and other networking equipment specified from all specified buildings on the West Decatur Elementary School campus and re-run ethernet and fiber optic cabling, capable of withstanding in excess of 10GB of network traffic. All ethernet drops in the building should also be re-cabled. New, locking network cabinets with dedicated power pulls are needed at the core location (MDF) and all feeder locations (IDFs). All IDF locations are to be linked back to the core network cabinet via fiber optic cabling. Any questions concerning specifications and conditions shall be directed to Catie Miller, Purchasing Agent at 256-552- 3000 The primary purpose of the bid is to secure the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective cabling using Category 6A ethernet armored OM3 multi-mode, 12-strand fiber optic cable, with the removal of old cabling and installation of new. A bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in the State of Alabama, or a postal money order, certified check, cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of $500 made payable to the Decatur City Board of Education is required to accompany each bid, unless otherwise stated in the "Special Conditions." Corporate or personal checks are not acceptable. All checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned to the bidders after the Board has approved the bid award. This project is to be completed between May 28, 2025 and July 31, 2025, so prices must remain in effect for this project. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject all or any part of a bid or any and all bids, to waive any informality, general condition, special condition, or minor specification deviation when considered to be in its best interest, and to award the bid that best serves the interest of the Board.
