The Decatur City School District, located in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking to purchase new UPS battery backup systems for our network racks. The request is to purchase battery backup systems (UPS) that are both cost-effective and long-lasting. The District is looking for a battery backup system for every network rack, including all IDF racks. UPS systems should be rack-mountable and capable of withstanding at least 2 hours of runtime. UPS systems should be capable of connection to existing wall outlets that are 120v/20amp. The District is seeking to have a service provider install the proposed UPS battery systems. The primary purpose of the bid is to secure the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective battery backup UPS systems for all network racks in the District. Vendors should include a proposal to install the UPS battery systems in addition to the hardware costs. This project is to be completed between May 28, 2025, and July 31, 2025, so prices must remain in effect for this project A bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in the State of Alabama, or a postal money order, certified check, cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of $500 made payable to the Decatur City Board of Education is required to accompany each bid, unless otherwise stated in the "Special Conditions." Corporate or personal checks are not acceptable. All checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned to the bidders after the Board has approved the bid award. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject all or any part of a bid or any and all bids, to waive any informality, general condition, special condition, or minor specification deviation when considered to be in its best interest, and to award the bid that best serves the interest of the Board.
