Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Concord, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The work to be done in general consists of mobilization; preparatory work, securing the work area for public safety, and site cleanup daily, clearing and grubbing, traffic control; water pollution control program; earthwork and pavement and landscape grading; cold planning of asphalt pavement; placement of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) overlay; storm drain trenching and shoring, removal & placement of pipe and structures, concrete curb, curb ramps, and sidewalk; pruning and removal of tree roots; lowering and adjustment of utility covers to finish grade; removal & replacement of traffic striping and pavement markings; installation of trash capture devices; installation of roadside signs; and all other work shown on the Plans and as specified in the Project Manual and all other work as specified in these Special Conditions, Technical Provisions, and as shown on the Plans. Location. The Project is located at various locations within City of Concord, California 94519. The Bid Form must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after City issues the Notice of Potential Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Potential Award. Liquidated Damages. It is expressly understood that if Final Completion is not achieved within the Contract Time, City will suffer damages from the delay that are difficult to determine and accurately specify. City will charge the Contractor $2,246 for each calendar day that Final Completion is delayed beyond the Contract Time. License. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classifications: Class "A," General Engineering Contractor or Class "C-8," Concrete Contractor. Time for Final Completion. The Project must be fully completed within 25 (4 additional days for Additive Bid #1 and 1 additional day for additive Bid #2 to be provided if respective additive bids are awarded) working days (weekends and holidays excluded) from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. City anticipates that the Work will begin in February 2025 but the anticipated start date is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding. Engineer's Estimate: $300,000 to $400,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Requests for Information. Questions or requests for clarifications regarding the Project, the bid procedures, or any of the Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to Tianjun Cao, Project Manager, at tianjun.cao@cityofconcord.org. Oral responses are not authorized and are not binding on the City. Bidders should submit any such inquiries by Tuesday November 12, 2024 at 2pm. Questions received any later will not be addressed before the bid deadline. Any interpretation or clarification by City in response to a written inquiry will be issued in an addendum posted on the Public Purchase website.
