The Project includes the following Work: The Base Bid includes mobilization and general conditions; site preparation and erosion control; replacement of the water main with new 2", 4", 6" and 8" pressure pipe, water appurtenances, and 1" water services; installation of two master water meter vaults; removal of an existing master meter vault; replacement of sewer main with new 8" PVC pipe; replacement of sewer services with new 6" PVC pipe; installation of 945 LF of swales and 445 LF of drain pipe to improve drainage on Second and Fifth Streets; replacement of the electrical distribution system and services; installation of crushed stone for roads; loaming and seeding of all other disturbed areas (not paved or gravel); and complete restoration of all properties, public and private, affected by the construction activities. Alternates include: Add Alternate A - Additional Crushed Stone and Surface Gravel on Roads: Includes an additional 4" of crushed stone and 2" of surface gravel on all roads. A 100% Payment and Performance Bond and 5% Bid Bond will be required. The successful bidder will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 10 days following notification of the acceptance of their Bid. Completion time for the project will be calculated as calendar days from the date specified in the "Notice to Proceed" as follows 210 calendar days for substantial completion (Base Bid). 10 calendar days for substantial completion (Bid Alt A). 25 calendar days for final completion Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1,000, for each calendar day of delay from the date established for substantial completion, and $1,000 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for final completion. Owner anticipates that the Project's base bid price will be approximately $2.55M. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids received and to waive any informalities in the bidding. There is a two-day grace period for bidders to withdraw their bids due to a material and substantial mistake, subsequent to the opening of bids, with consent of the Owner.
