Requesting Sealed BIDS from qualified contractors for the construction of "The REVSH21 Route 501 (Wilborn Ave) Drainage Improvements. The state project number is 0501-130-R25." Construction will occur in the Town of South Boston at the intersection of Wilborn Ave and First St. The engineer and owner will evaluate the bids and award the project to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. There will not be a pre-bid meeting. If you need additional information, contact the engineer prior to December 4th to allow time for comments/responses. Responses to questions will be shared with all interested bidders. The principal work to be performed under this contract consists of the installation of storm pipe lining and replacement of several structure tops. Each Bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total amount of his bid. A CERTIFIED CHECK in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the bid amount may be submitted in lieu of a BID BOND. A PERFORMANCE BOND and PAYMENT BOND, each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The OWNER reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bids received and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of the Owner.
