Plans call for the construction of a new main library and community center at Albert Park The plan involves moving the city's main library operations from the downtown Carnegie Library to Albert Park. Design must include the preservation or relocation of the Lonatese Gardes currently at the park As of March 30, 2026, this project is in the early stage. It is included in a $88.2 million Bond/Measure P, that was approved in November 2024. The owner is planning to pursue a Progressive Design Build approach, with an RFP for those services going out in the early summer 2026. Construction is expected to begin in 2028 and finish in late 2030 or early 2031.
