Full renovation of the 4th Floor Acute South is required. Accommodations of the ICU/Telemetry unit on the 4th Floor Acute South requires displacement of the Medical Unit currently located on half the 4th floor Acute South Building. Displacement of these services will be addressed by completing minor renovations on the Acute South 5th Floor East to support the relocated unit. Once these services are displaced, Level 4 will be available for renovation and the ICU/Telemetry level 4 renovation will occur across two, but potentially one phase to support the operational needs of the site. The phasing details will be determined through the schematic design stage of the project to minimize disruption to the ICU, Telemetry, and site. Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure upgrades will be required to support the new ICU/Telemetry Unit. Architectural finishes will require replacement due to the age of the existing flooring, ceiling, and wall materials. The Functional Program for the ICU/Telemetry Unit states the space requirement for the services to be 1,084 Component Gross Square Meters (CGSM) and the renovation area identified to support the project is level 4 of the Peace Arch Hospital, Acute South Tower. The available renovation area is approximately 1,038 CGSM.
