The Town is seeking a qualified contractor to remove one existing 2,000 gallon UST as well as furnish and install one new 2,000 gallon AGT at 75 Masonic Avenue Wallingford, CT. Question Deadline 11/13/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Questions concerning the work requirements of this bid are to be submitted through the Purchasing Portal Interested bidders are encouraged to visit and inspect the site at 75 Masonic Avenue Wallingford, CT before submitting a bid in order to familiarize themselves with the requirements Excavation, Removal and Disposal of UST: A. The project involves the removal of one (1) steel underground fuel oil storage tank and associated piping from the tank to the building, all saw cutting, excavation, backfilling, regrading, pavement repair and all required soil testing, disposal and filing of state and federal documentation. B. The contract will be turnkey, complete with all required excavation, tank and piping removals, demolition, rigging, disposal of all materials, backfilling, regrading and repaving, lawn repair and coordination and supervision required for the complete tank removal and documentation. The work will include but not limited to the following general activities: 1. Mobilization and conduct site preparation activities, including establishment of environmental protection measures, installation of grounded "temporary" fencing to separate work area from public access and set-up of staging areas for materials and equipment, as described in these specifications. Extreme care must be taken to ensure no damage to the property occurs during any site activities. 2. Applying for, paying for, and securing any and all permits, notifications, waivers, etc. required from local, state, and federal agencies, and other authorities having jurisdiction over work on the Site. 3. Removal of any fuel oil from the tank, dispose and render tank safe for removal. 4. Removal of existing pavement and/or any salvageable topsoil over excavation area. 5. Utility terminations at the building. Excavate and remove all fuel oil supply and return piping, vent piping and inventory management conduits and cabling to the building walls. 6. Excavate area over and around tank to facilitate the removal of the tank. 7. Removal of UST including, but not limited to, 2 tests of soils for contamination for analysis by State of CT certified environmental laboratory, the removal of petroleum impacted soil, cleaning and disposal of the UST, and lawful off-site disposal of cleaning fluids and petroleum-impacted soil documenting quantities and providing documentation of proper disposal. 8. Backfilling and compacting excavation and prepare with 3/4 " process aggregate to grade and repaving to match existing surrounding area. 9. Provide all required notifications to State of CT DEEP, and other authorities having jurisdiction. Provide all required documents, certificates and approvals relative to the tank removal and disposal. 10. Disposal of any demolition debris and construction waste is the responsibility of Contractor. Perform disposal in manner complying with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 11. Prepare and issue a letter report of site activity with a laboratory report. 1 2,000 Gallon Above Ground Fuel Oil Tank 2 2 Hour rating tested to SWRI 97-04 NFPA 30A Fire Resistant Tank 3 Color: White (standard) 4 2 Emergency Vents 5 Overfill Prevention Valve 6 Clock Gauge (reading feet and inches) w/ Alarm and Standard Float 7 Electronic Interstitial Leak Gauge w/ Console 8 Manway for Inner Tank Accessibility 9 Lifting Lugs 10 OSHA Ladder with Safety Shield (mounted on end of tank) 11 Mounted on Saddles 12 Fireguard UL 2085 Constructed/Labeled and Listed 13 All Necessary Valves, Fittings and Hardware needed for Installation 14 Urethane Coating 15 Updraft Vent Rated for Fuel Oil 16 Tight Fill Adapter 17 Top Seal Cap 18 1-1/4" IPS Emergency Fire Shut-off Valve w/ Fusible Link 19 Tank Access Steps for filling operation
