The City of High Point is seeking a qualified contractor to provide the following items for the Eastside WWTP Incinerator Pre-heat Burner Replacement Project. New fluidized bed incinerator combustion system, including preheat burner, fuel trains, piping, fittings, instrumentation, and appurtenances. New thermal screw conveyor system, including high temperature pipe and fittings, rotating disc valve, rolling slide gates, and appurtenances. New aluminum platform system with structural steel, gratings, guardrails, and ladders. Fuel oil system modifications. New electrical, instrumentation, controls, and appurtenances. And other appurtenances required for a complete system. No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City Council unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit with the City of High Point of a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. In lieu of making the deposit as above provided, such bidder may file a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds; conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the City of High Point upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. This deposit shall be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required herein. A separate performance and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required after bid award. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, as may in the judgment of the City, serve its best interest and the City further reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.
