The City of Willcox is seeking a landscape contractor to remove turf, reconstruct irrigation systems to smart irrigation systems, and install hardscape and other drought-tolerant and landscape materials at the Sunset Cemetery The City of Willcox is looking for a landscape contractor to remove turf, reconstruct irrigation systems to smart irrigation systems, and install hardscape and other drought-tolerant and landscape materials at the Sunset Cemetery. The ideal timeline for construction will begin in December 2024 and conclude in January 2025. Being able to fulfill this timeline will not preclude bids from being considered or accepted by the City of Willcox. The scope of work is according to the design plans attached as Exhibit A. The City reserves the right to value engineer aspects of the scope of work to fit budget requirements. Costs for each bulleted line item should be included as part of the bid. The map in Exhibit A shows the existing layout. All numbers are approximate. As currently planned, the curbing and turf installation is planned to cover existing graves. The actual build may vary slightly. o Cemetery East Removal o Remove approximately 65% of the turf or 38,000 square feet of turf o Install approximately 1500 linear ft. of extruded concrete curbing 4" x 6" to separate turf removed from cemetery plots and around the cremation burial locations on the north side. Leveling and base compaction may be needed. o Install approximately 110 linear ft. of reinforced concrete curbing 6"x 8" with rebar for access to the turf areas in 11 locations identified. Leveling and base compaction may be needed. o Install 13,500 sq. ft. of gray crusher fines ( 1/4 " minus) with no weed barrier fabric underneath o Install 24,500 sq. ft. of Coronado Brown 1/2 " DG with no weed barrier fabric underneath o Complete and install a smart irrigation system for the turf area and existing and future trees that has smart controllers with rain sensors and is adaptable to various weather conditions. o Install thirteen red push pistache or Texas live oak drought-tolerant trees in 15 gallon buckets o Cemetery West Turf Removal o Remove approximately 35% of the turf or 18,600 square feet of turf o Install approximately 1500 linear ft. of extruded concrete curbing 4" x 6" to separate turf removed from cemetery plots and around the cremation burial locations on the north side. Leveling and base compaction may be needed. o Install approximately 60 linear ft of reinforced concrete curbing 6"x 8" with rebar for access to the turf areas in 6 locations identified. Leveling and base compaction may be needed. o Level any large sunken headstones in cremation burial locations for aesthetic purposes o Install 14,400 sq. ft. of gray crusher fines ( 1/4 " minus) with no weed barrier fabric underneath o Install 4,200 sq. ft. of Coronado Brown 1/2 " DG with no weed barrier fabric underneath Question Deadline 11/11/2024 Proposers must carefully read the entire Request for Proposals.
