The Town of Roxbury has issued a Request for Proposal for the removal of current asphalt shingled roof, replacement of damaged wood and flashing, ice and water shield, replacement of drip edges, vent pipe boots, and ridge vents, and replace with new asphalt shingles at the required site restoration. The roof is located at the Town of Roxbury, Minor Memorial Library, 23 South St., Roxbury, CT 06783 Bid bond and payment bond is NOT required The Contractor shall provide all necessary permits, labor, material and required equipment to remove the following roof per local and State of Connecticut requirements, a complete turn-key operation. The scope of the project is to be used as a general guide and is not intended to be a complete list of all work necessary to complete the project. Time for Completion Work may commence upon Town of Roxbury's issuance of a Notice to Proceed. The start and end dates must be coordinated with the Selectman's Office with consideration given to the winter heating season. All work must be completed by June 30, 2025. Work schedules shall be Monday through Friday 7:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. Weekend work must be approved by the local Town Selectman. Description - Removal of current roof and replacement of new roof. The contractor is requested to obtain the necessary permits. Provide dumpsters for any/all material. Property must be left clean, safe, and undamaged daily to remain open for regular scheduled hours. Removal of all existing asphalt shingles. Inspect and replace damaged wood, tape all plywood joints. Install ice/water shield 3' up from bottom, low slope sections and valleys. Install synthetic underlayment on the entire area. Install new copper drip edge, rake edge and vent boots. Install new copper valley flashing in valley's and around chimneys. Install new copper step flashing as needed. Install new 50-year architectural shingles, color to be determined. Install aluminum gutters over front/rear entrances. Color to be determined. Description - Site Preparation and Restoration Provide labor and materials to prepare and finish landscape as defined by First Selectman. Remove any excess materials from the above operation and properly dispose of the excess materials in accordance with law.
