Ellis County ("the County") invites participation in the Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) for experienced and qualified Contractors to perform the construction of the new Ellis County Courts and Admin Renovation. The Firm selected will be awarded a Contract with the County. This introduction provides a high-level summary of the project covered in this request for competitive sealed proposals (CSP) Project includes the interior renovation of the existing district courthouse building located at 109 S. Jackson Street in Waxahachie, Texas, the replacement of the existing chiller located in the northeast parking lot adjacent to the existing building, and the replacement of select existing insulated glass units on the existing building. The interior renovation will consist of the conversion of existing office space into a jury queueing and jury holding area, the renovation of an existing temporary courtroom into a permanent courtroom and support area, and the renovation and repurposing of existing office spaces. Work shall include the re-use of select demolished materials as well as provisions for new materials. Trades shall include, but may not be limited to, selective demolition, concrete repair, interior gypsum board assemblies, carpet tile, ceramic tile, custom architectural woodwork, flush wood doors, hollow metal frames, door hardware, painting, suspended acoustical panels, interior storefront, toilet compartments and accessories, stone countertops, fabricated jury seating, fabricated pews, ballistic wall panels, interior lighting, HVAC, and low voltage audio/visual and information technology systems. Please note that this will remain an active courthouse during the duration of the renovation. The budget for this project is approximately $5,200,000. Time is of the essence. The Contractors shall commence with the work within thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of "Notice to Proceed" from the County.
