All bidders must be prequalified with the Kansas Department of Transportation for the type and amount of work covered under this contract. A bid deposit in the form of certified check on a solvent Kansas bank or a satisfactory bid bond in an amount equal to five percent of the total bid price must accompany the bid. Bidders shall direct all questions concerning the plans and contract documents to Schwab Eaton. The bidder to whom a contract is awarded will be required to furnish performance and statutory bonds acceptable to the City of Lyons, each in the amount of the total contract price in conformity with the requirements of the contract documents. The right is reserved by the City to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein. to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the City and to approve the bonds.
