Request for Quote Kansas Department of Transporation Fuel Tank Concrete Pad Questions requesting clarification of the bid must be submitted in writing to the Procurement Officer: Ashley Evans Telephone: 785-296-8107 E-Mail Address: ashley.n.evans@ks.gov Before the end of the day, on Friday, March 14, 2025 KDOT RESPONSIBILITES: KDOT will set the top elevations of the foundation grade, give the approximate location of the new concrete slab and provide a location for the spoil pile of excess dirt. JOB DESCRIPTION: The contractor is responsible for: Prepping the pad site. Removal of existing soil as needed. Excess soil will be placed on site as directed by KDOT. Excavation, compaction, and placing foundation stabilization (AB-3) Forming footings, walls, and placing reinforcing steel to the dimensions in the plans To Place the 22 bollards as specified. 6" steel pipe filled with concrete, set in 12" diameter, 3' deep concrete, primed and painted yellow. Concrete and excavation for bollard footings shall be subsidiary to the line-item Bollard (Permanent). To Place concrete in formed areas and on grade for the slab to the plan dimensions Backfill and compaction of soil around the new concrete structure upon proper curing KDOT representative will set the new slab location and slab elevation. Foundation Stabilization shall consist of approved AB-3. Existing subgrade, foundation stabilization shall be compacted to Type B compaction (90% maximum density) and may be determined by the walk-out method or verified by density tests. For placing 6" of Foundation Stabilization (AB-3) under the concrete slab. Payment for foundation stabilization will be subsidiary to the concrete pad. Contractor will allow and coordinate with the tank manufacturer to place electrical conduit in the formed area. The rebar requirements for the pad - use #6 rebar @ 24" O/C The contractor shall submit all proposed concrete mix designs to the KDOT Great Bend Area office 14 days prior to their expected usage. The mix designs will be forwarded to the KDOT District Materials Lab for review and approval. The contract early & late start dates will be as soon as the contract has been awarded and a preconstruction meeting has been held. All work shall be completed within 30 working days to minimize downtime for the fueling site. Working days are as defined in the 2015 Specifications for State Road and Bridge Construction. The Kansas Dept of Transportation is seeking bids to construct a concrete pad for a 2,000-gallon fuel tank. The vendor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment required to complete the concrete structure. This project will be tax exempt on Labor only. Pricing on Material shall include taxes.
