The new school building is being constructed on the same property alongside the existing Norton Elementary School, which will remain occupied throughout construction. The existing Norton Elementary School building will be abated and demolished after completion of the new school building in Summer 2026. Major sitework includes the construction of a geothermal well field, new drives and parking lots, playgrounds and new utility services (electric and water). Construction is scheduled to commence late December 2024 with completion of the new school in Summer 2026, followed by abatement and demolition of the existing Norton Elementary School building and completion of the bus loop, parking lot and drives in Fall 2026. If the Add Alternate temporary staff parking lot is accepted by the Owner, then the removal of this temporary work and restoration of the site will be performed in Spring 2027.
