Renovation of a civil project in Sunol, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
ESTIMATED COST $45,000,000 and $50,000,000 The objective of the project is to improve several treatment systems at the Sunol Valley Water Treatment Plant. This includes repair of sediment and flocculant basin concrete; replacement of sludge removal equipment, channel and filter valves, cationic polymer system, and sample pumps; and installation of chemical piping. In addition, a new utility water pump station will be installed to support the facility. The work is to be performed in Alameda County, California. There will be no LBE bid discounts for this contract. The Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontracting requirement is 11.00%. The LBE subcontracting requirement can only be met with CM D certified San Francisco Micro and Small-LBEs and PUC-LBEs. The LBE sub-participation requirement for this contract is below 20% in consideration of the large portion of work that includes specialized mechanical equipment and processes, the high level of coordination of shutdowns and plant operations, and due to the proximity of the project location that greatly affects LBE availability. Prime and Joint Venture level LBE participation cannot be counted towards meeting any of the LBE subcontracting requirement(s). LBE subcontractors must be certified with C MD in the scope of work they are being listed to perform. All Bidders shall submit documented Good Faith efforts with their Bids as directed on CM D Form 2B, except those who exceed the above stated subcontracting requirement(s) by at least 35%. Refer to CM D Attachment 6. Failure to comply with Chapter 14B requirements may result in a Bid being deemed non-responsive and ineligible for Contract award. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
