A certified check, bank draft, or a bid bond executed by the bidder and an approved Surety Company in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal. A performance BOND and a payment BOND, each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the CONTRACT PRICE, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. This work includes the following: Install approximately 3,500 L.F. of 12" Gravity Sewer, 10 manholes, pavement restoration, applicable appurtenances, traffic control, clearing and grubbing, and surface restoration. Bidders will be responsible for all materials and installation of the piping, manholes, excavation, backfill and compaction, testing, pavement repair, surface restoration and seeding, and any other appurtenance necessary to complete the specified work. All questions about the meaning or intent of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS shall be submitted to the ENGINEER in writing. Replies will be issued by ADDENDA mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the bidding documents. Questions received less than 5 days prior to the date for opening of BIDS will not be answered. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES. If the CONTRACTOR shall fail to complete the work by the date agreed on, or within any extended time allowed by the OWNER, the CONTRACTOR shall pay or allow to the OWNER, the sum of fine hundred dollars ($500.00) per working day for each day beyond the final date for completion of the work asstipulated in paragraph 4. Such damages may be deducted by the OWNER from any monies due the CONTRACTOR. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities in bids. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the date of bid opening. All bidders must agree that such rejection shall be without liability on the part of the OWNER for any damage or claim brought by any bidder because of such rejections, nor shall the bidders seek any recourse of any kind against the OWNER because of such rejections, and the filing of any bid in response to this invitation shall constitute an agreement of the bidder to these conditions Question Deadline 11/27/2024
