Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Prince Edward, Ontario. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.

The Office and the garage at the Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area are to be demolished due to new conservation priorities and ongoing building health and safety concerns. These buildings are in an active conservation area that will have users during all daylight hours. The area is not secured, as such the contractor is to properly secure the area, post appropriate signage and any other safety measures deemed necessary. Quinte Conservation does not have any historical drawings or data available regarding the office and garage or any items within beyond what is listed in the available data section. The Designated Substances and Hazardous Building Materials Assessment Report is available and includes both the office and garage. The work shall take the report, its findings and its recommendations into account. Asbestos procedures as outlined in Section 02 82 13.2 are also to be included in this scope of work. The exact scope of work is as follows: Office 1 Remove any remaining items in the building. Remove the entire building envelope. Remove all building foundations and slabs. 2 Remove Quonset hut Foundation, slab and any asphalt/concrete to driveway. Remove any remaining building elements. Restore the site to a natural profile and grade with topsoil and seed area. 3 Remove the exterior light standard and any associated conduits/wiring, handrail and the sidewalk up to the parking lot. Remove wiring and conduit from electrical meter back to first hydro pole. Make safe. 4 Hydro One will remove electrical meter and local transformer. Hydro One will disconnect from line on Union St. Decommission existing septic system as required under the OBC. - The water is fed from the garage. The water will be capped at the roadway. The buried waterline can be abandoned in place. 5 All items that are to be removed are to be disposed of offsite. 6Turnover the front door PERCA handle and the building commemorative plaque to Quinte Conservation. Garage Remove any remaining items in the building. - Remove the entire building envelope - Remove the entire concrete slab. 1 Remove any remaining building elements. Remove the driveway and parking area. Restore the site to a natural profile and grade with topsoil and seed area. 2 All items that are removed are to be disposed of offsite. Remove wiring and conduit from electrical meter back to first hydro pole. Make safe. Hydro One will remove electrical meter and local transformer. Hydro One will disconnect from the main line approx. 130m North. 3 Expose and cap water line at the roadway. PEC is aware of the job and will provide guidance and is to be on site during the work. 4 Decommission existing septic system as required under the OBC. The exact location is to be determined on site. Other 5 Remove Cadet sign and planter box at roadside. Topsoil and seed. Notes: The Contractor shall remove all demolished materials and debris from the site as soon as possible. All material shall be deemed non-salvable unless noted in the scope of work. Demolition debris shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be properly disposed of at an approved location, in accordance with the applicable Provincial and Municipal Regulations and Acts. In the RFP please note the locations of disposal for all major materials. The Contractor is to provide a sediment/erosion control plan. As this is a regulated area the plan will be reviewed and approved by Quinte Conservation prior to mobilization to site. The pond and wetlands to the South are to be protected. Contractor is to provide attestation of: WSIB Coverage Liability of Insurance of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence Quinte Conservation will: 6 A demolition permit has already been obtained. The water has been turned off at the garage valve. 7 Hydro is aware of the job and will turn off hydro and remove items noted above prior to work.
