All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than 7 days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Sealed Bids for the construction of Water System Improvements: Edmonson County 2021/2022 Cleaner Water Project consisting of the furnishing and installation of approximately 15,500 LF of 12", 6" and 4" water lines, 1 new flow metering vault, flow meter, and appurtenances together with all related work as specified and shown on the Drawings GENERAL CONTRACTORS SUBMITTING BIDS MUST PURCHASE THE FULL SET AT $150. Payment is not refundable. Documents will be shipped via UPS ground service. Overnight delivery of the documents via UPS or FedEx will only be made using the recipient's billing account number, Bids from anyone not on the Engineer's Plan Holders List will not be opened. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to insure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the Edmonson County Water District within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages for the failure to do so. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids. The Edmonson County Water District reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.
