Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
**As of December 4, 2024, Project has been awarded. Award amount is $473,408.21** TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM REPLACEMENT, EAST GRAND STREET AT CATHERINE STREET CITY OF ELIZABETH, UNION COUNTY, NEW JERSEY This project generally consists of the installation of new traffic signal system, concrete sidewalk and curbing associated with ADA compliant curb ramps, drainage modifications, milling, resurfacing, replacement of associated striping, pavement markings, signs, and other miscellaneous related work items. This project is partially funded through the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Safe Streets to Transit Program. Successful bidder must comply with all Federal, State, and Municipal requirements contained in the project specifications. All questions must be in writing to the Engineer, Dynamic Traffic, LLC. Questions shall be submitted via email to hsabins@dynamictraffic.com. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check or surety bond of a corporation acceptable to the City and in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid presented, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00. Each bidder must also submit with his bid a certificate from a responsible surety company stating that the said surety company will provide in the event that he should be the successful bidder, surety bond(s) in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contracted price and subject to such conditions as contained in the specifications. Proposals may be delivered or mailed before that time to the office of the Director of Public Works, City Hall, Room 308, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza, Elizabeth, New Jersey, 07201. Bidders shall furnish one (1) original of their proposal. Any award with respect to this matter is specifically contingent upon the availability of sufficient funds having been appropriated in the municipal budget. BID METHOD SINGLE OVERALL CONTRACTS Shipping charges are additional and variable depending upon the pick-up or delivery option selected by the purchaser. Bid documents cannot be obtained at the City of Elizabeth or at Dynamic Traffic's office. The printing cost is not refundable. The City specifically reserves the right to waive minor or inconsequential discrepancies and technical omissions in accordance with applicable law, with regard to the bidding requirements and as determined by City Council to be immaterial. The award or rejection of a contract for the within project is subject to the time limitations set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:11-24, except that the bids of any bidders who consent thereto may, at the request of the contracting unit, be held for consideration for such longer period as may be agreed. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the required bond(s) and certificates of insurance and to execute the contract within ten (10) calendar days from the award of the contract. Construction must begin within ten (10) calendar days after written notice to do so shall have been given to the Contractor by the Director of Public Works, and shall be carried on regularly and uninterruptedly, at a rate to insure its full completion within the specified calendar days after such notice. If at the time of award of the contract, the successful bidder has one or more contracts for projects with the City or is subsequently awarded a contract for other projects with the City than it will be required to work concurrently on all projects without interruption or delays. City Council reserves the right to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2 and any bid that is non-responsive or submitted by a bidder that is not responsible or to award contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, in accordance with applicable law
