Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Decommissioning of existing organics facilities, Ragged Lake and Burnside. The Ragged Lake Organics site is located at 61 Evergreen Place, Goodwood NS. The site includes an administration building which is attached to the receiving and preparation hall, two pre-engineered fabric buildings, in-ground biofilters, an in-vessel composting system that includes 24 composting constrainers and 6 bio-filter containers, and underground leachate holding tank, an underground process water storage tank, stormwater management pond and a scale house. Leachate generated at the facility is stored in an underground leachate tank and removed from the facility for disposal. The Burnside facility is located at 80 Gloria McCluskey Ave., in the Burnside Industrial Park, located in Dartmouth, NS. The site comprises the main building, which where the composing and curing areas are located, two biofilters, underground leachate holding tanks, a scale and administration building, as well as trailers and a stockpile area for storage containers. TIMELINE: Plans complete. Tender from general contractors closed at the owner on August 15, 2025 and submissions are under review. Further update pending award of contract.
