Blue Line Mid Station Lighting Retrofit. Description: Lighting fixture and pole replacement at several rail platform and adjacent spaces for the Blue Line. Remove and dispose of steel light poles, pole mounted fixtures, and surface mounted fixtures. Speakers currently attached to poles will come down with pole removal and be disposed of by the contractor. See contract documents for information on size, counts and locations of existing items. Disposal also includes any shipping and packaging material associated with the new poles and fixtures. C. Install aluminum light poles, pole mounted LED fixtures, and surface mounted LED fixtures. See contract documents for information on size, counts, and locations. The discrepancy of removal and installation count are due to poles that have been removed due to severe corrosion. D. Provide speaker cabling from new pole to existing headend location, utilizing existing raceway for poles as specified in design documents. E. Install bracket for speakers on those same poles. F. All work must be accomplished compliant with OSHA regulations, as expressed in 29CFR1910 and 29CFR1926. Further, all contractors must identify their Designated Competent Person to the CAR. G. Contractor will coordinate with facility management through the CAR during construction to limit disruption to daily operations. LOCATION OF THE WORK A. The Work of this Contract is located at the COUNCIL's Blue Line Mid Stations: Cedar/Riverside, 38th Street, 46th Street, 50th Street/Minnehaha Park, and VA Medical Center. The Work will be conducted on COUNCIL-owned property and within the public right-of-way.
