(2) - Airport Design, Construction & Aviation Planning (Design A-6 Level A) State Goal: 0 % SBEs Allows zero unit prices and labor Yes Allows negative unit prices and labor Yes Location(s) Statewide, New Jersey The Bureau of Aeronautics & Modal Grants is responsible for the oversight of the State's aviation system. All aviation facilities and activities are licensed through the Bureau of Aeronautics. In addition, the Bureau also promotes aviation safety and inspects all public-use airports annually and all other facilities on an as-needed basis. The Bureau also oversees the operation of the two NJDOT-owned airports: South Jersey Regional Airport and Greenwood Lake Airport. The Bureau is also responsible for maintaining statewide aviation data by regularly updating specific contact information for every facility/activity and by periodically updating the State Airport System Plan and the Economic Impact Study. The Bureau also provides for the oversight of both state and federally funded grants for the Rail Freight Assistance Program, Airport Improvement Program & Community Multiscale Air Quality Modeling System (CMAQ). During the projects, the Bureau is responsible for monitoring grants and ensuring that the sponsors adhere to the terms and conditions of the agreement. The Bureau is also the lead agency for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)/Drones operations at NJDOT. The Department utilizes UAS technology where appropriate to increase safety, reduce congestion and save time. Task Orders under this Professional Services Agreement will secure consulting, staffing, technical, engineering and/or professional services necessary to support the activities of the Bureau and/or Division on an as-needed basis.
