Reference Number 0000281580 The objective of this SOA is to provide the necessary as and when required professional services to Maritime Forces Atlantic (MARLANT) Safety and Environment in support of the MARLANT Solid Waste Program. The services will be provided at Department of National Defence (DND) properties within MARLANTs Area of Responsibility but will be mainly focused within the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. Overall SOA value is estimated at $550,000.00 over five years. The intention is to award the SOA for two years with three additional one-year option extensions if mutually agreed. The initial contract will be awarded to one firm for an approximate value of $250,000 over the two years. Option extension years are estimated at $100,000.00 per year. The scope of work is to provide, but may not be limited to, the following services: Solid Waste Audits - Complete non-hazardous solid waste audits of ship / shore units and facilities located within CFB Halifax to determine level of compliance with Government of Canada Waste Commitments, MARLANT solid waste directives and HRM by-laws. Includes collecting and sorting waste, interpreting results, providing recommendations and completing reports. Various Desktop Studies - Complete studies related to the Solid Waste Program. Includes completing studies to improve and optimize the Solid Waste Program; assisting MARLANT with policy, process and procedure development to increase diversion rates; and reviewing various Canadian and International regulations and requirements to support standard operating procedure (SOP) updates. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be initiated in December 2024. This is conditional on the contract receiving approval to proceed by the Department of National Defence (DND).
